5 Tips to Clean Up and Speed Up Your Lightroom Workflow
I’m back home from my trip to the Faroe Islands – it’s fun to go, but always so great to come home. Lots of stories and pics to share soon, but for today I’m sharing 5 tips to make working in Lightroom Classic faster, easier, and more fun. Check out the short video below.
Hope you found those helpful.
Just 9-Days ‘Till Photoshop World Las Vegas!
It’s not too late to come and join us. Airfares are still pretty cheap, and even though we’ve sold 100% of our room block at The Mirage, the hotel told us that if you tell them you’re with the conference, and they have a comparable room available, they’ll still honor our discount rate, so it’s certainly worth a try.
More details, tickets and travel info at photoshopworld.com – lots of incredible Lightroom training each day of the conference from the very best trainers in the business, including Matt Kloskowski, Rob Sylvan, Terry White, Kristy Serge, Bryan O’Neal Hughes, and Serge Ramelli among others. You don’t want to miss it!
It’s going to be a fantastic week – let’s make the most of it! 🙂

Ha ha, funny, Scott! I use Map all. the. time.
It’s one of the main reasons I even deal with Lightroom. I have all my photos meticulously GPS tagged and it is extremely cool to have location as another parameter to find and organize images.

If you could move individual items from the left sidebar to the right, you’d be able to rarely open it at all and still have access to collection changes and presets… if you could have the navigator pop up over the histogram (where an optional waveform would be super helful) via a hot key, ditto. And solo mode is nice, would help if you could group items so all in the group opened at the same time… like Basic, Tone Curve and Details – nice to see them all together.
I am with you on this. I would love to move them from the left to the right. 🙂
I agree.
also :
– a solo mode for LUT categories and presets would also help browsing faster.
– personnally I prefer the tabs in camera raw than stacked panels.
– a full screen grid view of lut,… like ON1 would help comparing effects, LUTs… instead of these small thumbnails

You can kind of do that although it takes more than one mouse click. When in solo mode and you have the Basic panel open SHIFT click on any other panel you would like to open.
Good reminder Ron – a lot of people probably didn’t know that and just quit using Solo mode… For now I changed the order (which is a nice tweak they added not long ago) and can get to them easier. In the group vein, I’d put split toning, hsl together – then transform, calibration and lens corrections in another. I always turn on lens corrections and calibration saved as default per camera by preset, rarely do transforms… flipping between Basic/detail/tonecurve set and the split/hsl – would cover my 99%.
