Lightroom in 60-Seconds: Totally Hidden, Yet Absolutely Epic Thumbnail Reordering Trick
I wish I had come up with this, but only somebody at Adobe (thanks, Benjamin Warde) would even know this trick existed. I would try to explain it in text, but if you watch the “less than 60-seconds” video above you’ll totally get it, and start using it right away. Check it out below:
NOTE: On my video below I mention you need to use the Option (PC-Alt) key to make this trick work. Thanks to my on-the-ball readers for letting me know – holding that key is not necessary. It makes the tip even more epic!
Thanks for stopping by, and don’t forget to catch Rob’s weekly tutorial here tomorrow.
Cheers,
-Scott
P.S. San Diego, LA, Houston, and Phoenix — heads up: I’m coming there very soon with my “Ultimate Photography Crash Course” full-day seminar. Dates and more info right here. Get your tickets now — we had some cities sell out last year and some folks who really wanted to come couldn’t. Don’t miss out.
Thank you! I knew there had to be a better way!!!
I’ve done that for years. No need to hold the option key while dragging though. Once your images are selected, just drag to the left black bar, as you show.
Why’d you hold the Option key while dragging, Scott? I don’t think you need that. Just drag. 🙂
Wow – and it even works wayback in LR 6. Where oh where is the secret book that Ben has?
That is a GREAT tip! The click a drag has always been a real pain to move an image a long way. This solves it!
Thanks Scott (and Benjamin).
