How About a Quick One-Question Lightroom Poll?

Vote concept; handdrawn ballot box on a green chalkboard

Vote concept; handdrawn ballot box on a green chalkboard

Happy Tuesday everybody! How about taking a quick one-question poll on the one feature from Lightroom on the Desktop you’d most like to see added to Lightroom Mobile.

NOTE: I intentionally left editing RAW photos from your DSLR in Lightroom Mobile off the list, because apparently everyone in the whole wide world wants that (just be careful what you wish for — I think this is one feature that sounds good until you consider how little actual available memory most mobile devices have. I think it’s one of those things that if it gets added, few folks will actually use it as much as they think after they experience the mobile editing RAW file size pain factor, but that’s a topic for another post).

So, if you’ve got a sec, take a look at this list (and I hope there’s not something on this list that Adobe already added that I didn’t realize it made its way into Mobile. They add stuff so often it’s hard to keep up).

Here’s the link to poll.

Thanks for taking the poll – I’ll share the results here tomorrow. 🙂

Looking forward to meeting a whole bunch of you in Boston tomorrow at my seminar. Hundreds of Boston-area photographers are already signed up — but it’s not too late if you want to come and join me tomorrow.

Best,

-Scott

P.S. Tomorrow, at 4pm on “The Grid” we’re airing a special “Live from the UK” tour from “The Photography Show” in Birmingham (it’s not actually live because we taped it at the show, but it was live when we did it, which is the kind of explanation a presidential candidate might give to any given question. I’m not one, but I’ve seen a lot of TV commercials for them). 😉

I answered Keywords, but it’s a lie. It’s really support for Smart Collections, but it wasn’t in the list.

Checked Keywording, but the reason why I am NOT currently using LR Mobile is because it’s missing Smart Collections.

My whole workflow is based on those, so it is an absolute must!

I was excited to try Lightroom Mobile until I learned I’d have to switch to Creative Cloud to sync with my desktop. No thank you.

      I’m in the same boat.
I really don’t want to deal with storing files back and forth between the cloud etc.
Surely they have a market in mind for whom this is a great thing, but it isn’t me. If I could do it on local LAN to my own box without hitting the internet, I’d be all in.

Not on your poll, but the feature I most would like to see is the ability to export with my watermark presets.

Fully agree with you here Robert, for those quick shares, smart preview size is perfect for this and being mobile allows one to share thought and images while going thought your shoots etc. I dint always want to hav5o wait 5ill I get back in front of my machine!

Scott: I won’t stop owishing for RAW on LR Mobile on my iPad. I know how fast it is in the camera roll and Photos. But, really, I just want picks and ratings and sync.

I agree with the above. Metadata editing would be great.

I actually checked “Collection Sets”, however what I would love to see even more are Smart Collections.

I would like to respond to your poll, but cannot, as you are missing a key question.

Ability to edit metadata, specifically, Title, Caption, Location and Copyright.
