This tip comes courtesy of one of our readers (thanks Randy F.) who pointed out in a comment here last Friday that the new Dehaze slider just added to Lightroom CC works pretty darn well for removing haze from Fireworks, and with July 4th coming up, I thought it was a perfect tip for today. 🙂
I have noticed that the slider is much more effective (no pun intended) on images still in RAW format, versus those in JPEG (I did a comparison on the same file in RAW vs an exported JPEG and it’s a pretty wide difference).
So, keep this up your sleeve for the Independence Day post-processing. 🙂

I feel the same way as Irene Strowe. There have been rumors that future upgrades to Photoshop and Lightroom will only apply to the Creative Cloud. Since I don’t lease my cars or rent my home I guess that will be the last time I buy an Adobe product since I am not a fan of forever payments. As Kelby shifts more and more to Creative Cloud I anticipate there will be less and less for people like me and I will eventually have to say goodbye to Kelby as well. But don’t cry for me. There are many companies out there who will fill the gaps and it is to those my dollars will go.
I think it is really crummy that Adobe has added this feature to CC and not LR6. As a long time user of Lighroom I have bought every single upgrade including LR6. It seems unfair to not get features in purchased upgrades and that Adobe is using that to get more people to subscribe.
Knew it was coming but sad day for people who prefer buying the software.

thanks for the tip! I can tell you it works really great on underwater photos as well. Saved many of my latest underwater shots with a bit of Dehaze.
