The Magic & Wonder That is Lightroom’s ‘Solo Mode’
Solo Mode is one of the biggest time-savers and frustration avoiders in all of Lightroom, and it has the power to speed your entire workflow — all you have to do it turn it on. Here’s how it works, in my latest installment of “Lightroom in 60-seconds.” Check it out:
See? Pretty awesome (and once you turn it on, you’ll wonder how you lived without it).
Hope you found that helpful. 🙂

Hi Scott,
I like this solo mode. But I think I prefer the tabs in camera raw giving more space for each panel, especially on small displays.
This would be nice if solo mode was extended to profiles, presets…
I now have lot of LUT/profiles and the thumbnails are versy small, the panels also and it is tedious to close a LUT category to open another one.
ON1 has an amazing grid display, full screen of presets and lut of one category to better compare and select.
Yep. Lightroom 5.7 has that too. LOL
Thanks for the tip!

If you really like solo mode but need to open just one more and see both at the same time, do SHIFT-Click on that 2nd menu panel and you’ll have the 2 open at once but all the others stay muted. I’ve shifted the order of things so I have Basic, Tone Curve, …. I sometimes open and work in those 2 together pretty closely. Still have the cleaned up interface look, can see both sets of options at same time.
First thing every Lr user should learn. 🙂
Also, works on both sides of the interface in all modules.
