No, 8.4.1. You’d only see the option for Auto BW Mix if you were looking at a photo that was converted to B&W first. Mine wasn’t. Good tip though! In so far as showing the results of a profile first, your idea of creating profile based presets would be the easiest way.

Were your Classic screen grabs from an older version ? I have the option to include “auto bw mix”, and then the lower portion includes option to include the BW mix… Also in your bag of tricks is there a way to make the V key show what BW would look like using other than the Adobe Monochrome profile, or are we stuck with hover over a preset to see what we’ve setup as our intended bw conversion ? Would be nice to be able to define a profile of choice. ( I’m talking about using this on desktop Classic )
