Dave and Scott, “What are the credits even for?” may also be answered by Adobe hedging against all the whining people crying “But it’s so sloooowwww!” to get magic in 15 seconds. If people are slamming the server and run out of credits they have to step aside and let others have a shot at it too, or they pay more.

I think Scott’s right, though, it’s mostly for an income stream.

In reply to Dave Cornue. Hi, Dave. Well, I think the fact that you can "buy" priority speed credits is why they exist. Some companies wouldn't blink an eye at refilling their graphics or social media department with more priority credits to keep everybody working at full speed – for those folks, it makes sense, and that creates a new recurring revenue stream for Adobe, so I imagine that's why. At least, I hope that's all there is to it. LOL!!

Right, got it, the credits thing really doesn’t matter to us end users. But that does beg the question: what are the credits even for? Is Adobe just using them as a tracking mechanism so they can see how much it is being used?

Getty Images posted on their website that they will not accept photos ‘created’ through AI, and specifically mention Adobe’s products. However, it’s not clear how they might treat photos ‘edited’ with generative fill or expand, since the same edits could theoretically be accomplished with previous Photoshop tools.
