Leave to the folks at Tethertools to come up with a way for Sony shooters to not only finally shoot tethered into Lightroom Classic (quite fast and stable I might add), they actually took it up a big notch with features that even Canon and Nikon (who have native built-in Lightroom tethering) can’t do.
Note: in the video below, Tethertools mention Nikon as well, but Nikon has been able to tether into Lightroom for years, so I’m not sure why that’s in there. Anyway, check out the short video and you’ll see what I mean about taking it up a notch.
OK, it’s not the most in-depth video ever (it’s more catchy that info-packed), but at least you get to see the interface, and blah, blah, blah — Sony can tether into Lightroom now — that all we care about, and I’m very happy for all those Sony shooters out there, so yay Tethertools (and I wonder why they were able to make this work when no one else could).
The Smart Shooter 4 plug-in goes for $69.95 and you can get it direct from Tethertools. Here’s the link.
Hope you found that helpful. Stay safe, and have a great weekend. 🙂

Older Sony shooters shouldn’t get happy just yet. My Alpha 900 is still no joy as far as tethering directly to Lightroom. Check the site for the short list of Sony cameras that apply. Perhaps the headline should, more accurately, have read “some Sony Shooters”.
hello,
About your remark for Nikon, I don’t know if it is same company but I have used sometimes :

and find it more powerful than lightroom in certain cases.
I also use helicon focus for focus stacking…
