Hey Mike, Have you tried the “Add to This Catalog” option in the Export Location dialog to have the exported copies added to the catalog as part of the export process?

I do this when I’m creating a sharable collection where I want my watermark on the shared photos. I have an export shortcut designed to place the exported file in the Auto Import folder for LrC. Then it’s a simple matter to move the photos to the collection to be shared (via Lightroom) and to a folder specific to that purpose. (I call my folder ‘Shared Sports Photos’)

Once I’m through with a particular shared collection, it’s a simple matter to mark all the photos in the collection for deletion and thus remove only those photos from the ‘shared’ folder as well.
