TIP: Making Your Own Custom Lightroom Splash Screen

This is a cool little tutorial from Craig McCormick from Destructive Pixels that lets you replace the Lightroom 5 splash screen with a custom one of your own, and the process is surprisingly simple. Thanks to Petapixel for pointing this one out. 🙂

You can easily change the identity plate, which is that thing in the upper left corner. Just left or right click on it to find a drop down menu or a pop-up one. Just follow the simple directions to make your own.

Really valuable tip – in education we could use this to also include reminders to connect LR to their network connection. Hopefully, one day, the LR catalog can go on a network rather than a local drive and teaching LR basics will be much more straightforward for new learners. Thanks, Scott for bringing us the best of the web.
