Lightroom in 60-Seconds: How to Embed Your Copyright Info Into Your Images
Well, the headline pretty much explains what the video is about, but essentially it’s how to embed your copyright info and contact info directly into images you’ll be posting on the Web (to Instagram, your portfolio, Facebook, Twitter, etc.). It’s a one-time set-up in Lightroom, and then from then on you have your images embedded with that info automatically on import.
Hope you found that helpful. 🙂
Thanks to everybody from literally around the world who came to my free photography Webinar yesterday. You can catch the replay over on my Facebook page (scroll back to yesterday’s post).
Have a safe, clean, washy-hands kinda day. 🙂

Suggestion. Keep your 2016,2017,2018 etc. Copyright presets and use them when you need them, but each year when creating a new one, save a copy of the latest as “default copywrite”, replacing the preexisting one. Why? So you can use “default copywrite” in Import presets, and so never have to edit those each year.
Hi,
They both show the copyright info in Photoshop, but it still means that a lot of people will be blissfully unaware there is any copyright on the photo.
Ok, so it is there, but not showing in some image viewers (as far as you can tell). It is important that it is in there, but you have to also know that no matter what, a lot of people will always be blissfully unaware there is any copyright info embedded in the photo’s metadata.
Yes it is there, but even someone looking for it may not see it, and in some cases they will remove the copyright info anyway. The alternative is watermarking, but I must admit though I am not that keen on putting watermarks on my photos, I have tried that but they draw the eye away. So in the end, putting copyright info is a bit academic.
Thank you, but when I export a photo showing the copyright meatadata from lightroom to a .JPG the copyright gets carried over but the rights usage terms are not carried over, at least they do not show up in ifranview or with explorer and if I export the photo as a .PNG not even the copyright shows up. I have set exports as all metadata
Can you open one of the exported copies in Photoshop, and check File > info there?
