Google Makes The Entire Nik Collection of Plug-ins For Lightroom FREE!!!!
OK, it’s not just for Lightroom — it works in Photoshop, too but that’s not the point. The entire Nik Collection (of awesome special effects plugins) is now F-R-Double E — FREE!!!
You can go and download it right now (did I mention it’s free? Well, it is, and it was $150 until yesterday, but now it’s free…like a bird. A free bird! Sorry, I could’t resist).
I did a Q&A on the whole thing, and what this all means, over on my blog today, so if you click this link you can go check it out and it will hopefully answer a lot of your questions.
My thanks to the folks at Google for making this plug-in available for free to photographers everywhere!

This is Great News!!!!
It’s great that they’re giving it away, However raw processors like Lightroom and Capture One have become so good that filters like Nik’s aren’t as necessary as before. Most of the looks can easily be replicated and done quicker by a dedicated raw processor.

Very bad news. No more improvements nor upgrades to an awesome tool suite.
Well, this collection got some success in his century….the fact that those App’s is now free mean ; no update anymore ( for sure by the way).
& Finaly, today that type of Filters factory is only good for Non-Pro, where the Pro’s use PS & LR, or dXo etc…& that’s all…
Now if you enjoy to push 234958 Buttons to get 1 or 2 effect’s you can get in 1 shoot in ps…it’s up to you….
The only one who worth the install is “SilverFX” for B&W tuning….the rest is outdated….
I do not talk about the size on your DD/SSD !! = 750 GO !!!! Uhhhh

Apparently it doesn’t support Windows 10.
Works fine on my Windows 10 box and current LR CC …
Not sure what issues are outstanding, if any…

I know, right!!!! I’m really excited for everybody to get the Collection – I use it daily myself. 🙂
Had it years back, then enjoyed the advances in LR that met my needs… but now I can enjoy it again, have fun experimenting & comparing, and it has cost me nothing, what is there to not enjoy? If it is going to die on the vine then let’s pick it and make wine – time to party!
