New Online Class: Learn Lightroom CC In One Hour https://lightroomkillertips.com/new-online-class-learn-lightroom-cc-one-hour/ https://lightroomkillertips.com/new-online-class-learn-lightroom-cc-one-hour/#comments Thu, 08 Mar 2018 14:17:47 +0000 https://lightroomkillertips.com/?p=10572 A brand new class from Scott on using the new cloud-storage based version of Lightroom known now as Lightroom CC.

The post New Online Class: Learn Lightroom CC In One Hour appeared first on Lightroom Killer Tips.

]]>

Hi, gang – just a heads up – I recorded a training class to get photographers who are interested in the new cloud-storage based “Lightroom CC” up and running fast. It’s called “learn Lightroom CC in One Hour” (though just between us, the total class length is 1-hr, 10-minutes long but that is including the class intro, wrap up, extraneous stuff – the training part really comes in for a landing at just under one-hour-ish).

Here are the details:

Who: Your instructor is yours truly
What: Just-released class on new cloud storage version of Lightroom (called Lightroom CC)
Where: Here’s the link
When: It’s available today
Why: Cause there are people out there who want to store their images in the cloud and stop worrying about backing up and image management

Just to be extra clear, this is NOT a class on the version of Lightroom we’ve all been using for years, now called “Lightroom Classic” – this is the version of Lightroom launch last October.

Hope you find that helpful, and we’ll see ya here tomorrow. 🙂

Best,

-Scott

Adobe Releases Big Update to Lightroom Mobile! (Whoo hoo!!!) https://lightroomkillertips.com/adobe-releases-big-update-lightroom-mobile-whoo-hoo/ https://lightroomkillertips.com/adobe-releases-big-update-lightroom-mobile-whoo-hoo/#comments Tue, 18 Jul 2017 14:00:40 +0000 https://lightroomkillertips.com/?p=9819 Big news today — Adobe released a pretty major update to Lightroom Mobile with lots of long-awaited features making their way to Mobile, (and if you use Lightroom Mobile on your iPad, today’s an even better day for you). Note: on the heels of this announcement, we’re releasing my new “Lightroom Mobile: Start to Finish” online course today, too! KelbyOne members will be able to watch it later this morning (or you can take the 10-day free trial if you’re not a member, and watch it today, as well). In the meantime, I made a quick “first look” video for you going over the new features and interface (below), but before we get to there, in short here’s what’s new: The Adjustment Brush is here (Awwwww, yeah!) and it rocks! Great implementation (see the video below). Plus, if you have an iPhone with 3D Touch support, it’s pressure sensitive when “painting” with your finger, and if you have an iPad Pro, it supports the Apple Pencil’s pressure sensitivity. You can now Erase areas in the Radial and Graduated Filter (like you can on desktop Lightroom) Full Featured Sharpening is here (the full panel from Desktop Lightroom CC with all the same sliders) The Noise Reduction Panel is here, too! (in the Detail panel) Cool ‘Haptic Feedback’ feature for straightening images while aiming built-in camera app Live Clipping Warning (via a Zebra pattern) while shooting with the built-in camera app All new updated Android phone interface, designed to be most “Android-y” UI for Lightroom Mobile yet, with a faster, more natural Android feel throughout the App. The iPad gets the new “more Lightroom CC-like” user interface introduced in the iPhone previously (seen at the top of this post). There’s a few other smaller tweaks and enhancements, and some things are more discoverable thanks to the update interface. Take a look at the video before for a quick look: Adobe has not yet released the new user interface for Android tablet’s yet, but hopefully, that won’t be too far behind. Hope you enjoyed this first look, and I invite you to check out my new Lightroom Mobile: Start to Finish course that comes out today at KelbyOne. Have a totally updated mobile day, ya’ll! 🙂 -Scott

That’s right — it’s “Lightroom Killer Tips!” (I thought you’d dig that). 🙂

Hey everybody – I’m finally back from my photo trip to Italy, and I’m ready to get back into the groove (though our offices are closed today due to the hurricane). Anyway, yesterday we released my brand new class called Lightroom CC Killer Tips (see the trailer above), and it’s right up your alley because it’s all my favorite tips, tricks, workarounds, shortcuts, timesavers, and little known features to make you faster, more efficient and have more fun in Lightroom.

Of course, you guys that frequent this site will recognize some of the tips, but I take a lot of the written tips I’ve shared here and bring them to life on video in this class that covers a TON of material in a relatively short time.

If you’re a KelbyOne member, I hope you’ll check it out this weekend.
If you’re a member yet, you can still watch the entire class for free – just take the 10-day free trial and you watch it right now (along with about 600 other classes on everything from Photoshop to flash, Lightroom to lighting, and everything in between.

Here’s the direct link to the class.

Hope you have a great weekend (try to stay safe and dry — that’s our goal here in Florida, and we’ll catch ya here on Monday for our regularly scheduled tips and tricks.

Got Lightroom But Haven’t Learned Photoshop Yet? https://lightroomkillertips.com/havent-learned-photoshop-yet/ https://lightroomkillertips.com/havent-learned-photoshop-yet/#comments Mon, 22 Aug 2016 08:16:50 +0000 http://lightroomkillertips.com/?p=8977 Hi gang, and yes, it’s Monday already (altogether now…groan!) Anyway, when I’m out on the road with my Seminar Tour (next stop is in Indianapolis this Thursday by the way), I run into so many photographers who tell me they signed up for Adobe’s Creative Cloud Photographer’s Bundle (Lightroom & Photoshop for $9.99 a month), but they’re not really using the Photoshop part yet. They tell me, “I know I should be using it…” or “I know I could be doing so much more…” but they just haven’t taken the time to learn it or had the right opportunity. That’s why I did this new KelbyOne online course called “7 Photoshop Techniques Every Lightroom User Needs to Know” — it’s expressly for Lightroom users and I focus on the 7 main things you would leave Lightroom for, and it’s a short course – you’re literally just two-hours away from adding Photoshop to your workflow and using it like a boss! Watch that trailer above and you’ll see what the class is about. One of the main topics I cover is Layers — not just how to use them, but when and why you’d want to use them. In fact, I cover that type of stuff a lot, letting you know the reasons why you’d need to jump to Photoshop, and then exactly what to do, step-by-step, when you get there. I think it will help a lot of folks unlock the power of Photoshop, and I hope you’ll give it a try. Here’s the link. Also, if you’re already using Photoshop, but you know another Lightroom user who needs to learn the ropes in Photoshop, maybe you could pass it on to them for me? How ’bout a handy Lightroom keyboard shortcut while you’re here? You might already know this one, but I get asked it a lot, so I thought I’d throw it out there. If you want to see a quick before/after of your edits to an image, press the [ \ ] backslash key on your keyboard. That’s it for today – hope you have a better than average Monday, and we’ll see ya back here on Wednesday. 🙂 Best, -Scott P.S. Hi gang, and yes, it’s Monday already (altogether now…groan!)

Anyway, when I’m out on the road with my Seminar Tour (next stop is in Indianapolis this Thursday by the way), I run into so many photographers who tell me they signed up for Adobe’s Creative Cloud Photographer’s Bundle (Lightroom & Photoshop for $9.99 a month), but they’re not really using the Photoshop part yet.
