Intermediate-level Lightroom Classic Start-to-Finish Tutorial

I’m back from teaching at the Adobe MAX Conference in Los Angeles — such a great time — met lots of great folks, saw lots of old friends — such an amazing event! Thanks to everybody who came out to my sessions — I really had a ball.

OK, onto Lightroom. I’ve got another intermediate-level Lightroom Classic Start-to-Finish tutorial for you — hold on to your hats — we cover a lot of ground in this baby (including dealing with a pretty major camera mistake on my part). I think you’ll learn a lot (plus, at the end of the video there’s an invitation to take one of my free full-length Photoshop online courses for free).

Hope you found that helpful. 🙂

Have a great weekend, everybody!

Best,

-Scott

P.S. On Monday I’m in the Detroit area with my new “Photoshop for Wedding and Portrait Photographers” seminar, and then Philadelphia on Tuesday. Hope you can come out and spend the day with me.

Scott, I LOVE these start-to-finish tutorials! I’m probably getting more to the “reinforcement” than learning stage, but I truly learned the magic of Photoshop free transform in this tutorial. I don’t see how anyone can’t learn more in 13 minutes of following you than they can in two hours of normal video class time. PLEASE keep sending these out periodically.

Where’s the next travel on-site trip? One of those is in my future?

    Hi Scott,

I know this is not the place to post this but I don’t know anywhere else to post it. The update to Lightroom 8 and Photoshop 2019 has been nothing less than a disaster. My problem is not being able to sign out of either of these programs. Others are having lots of other problems too. I would suggest that if you have not updated to these programs, DON’T DO IT. Check out some of the forums and you will see what I mean.

Love, love your intermediate-level tutorials, they’re the perfect pace for me. Learned a lot, as always, especially: 1) PS Free Transform can be lots faster than screwing around forever with the sliders in LR Transform; 2) Content-Aware Fill is more powerful than I realize, should try it more often; 3) good reminder expand selection 4 pixels before Content-Aware Fill. Thanks much, as always, you’re the best.

Why didn’t you use use guide lines in Lightroom?
I think it would have done a decent job in correcting the beam all you needed were 2 one on tiles on the floor and one on the beam and that would stretched / straightened it out.

And I loved the reference to the “tragic wand” maked me laugh out loud.

    Looking forward to more.
